The El Morro restaurant, of the Santiago Branch of Empresa Extrahotelera Palmares, receives the final touches of its capital repair to provide it with new attractions as a product preferred by the international market.

   Joaquín Mock Díaz, director of the Santiago entity, announced as added services an air-conditioned bar and grill in the pergola area.

   As a novelty, he said, it now has only one level, with an excellent view of the sea in its viewpoint.

   The setting, he said, is recreated with elements from the times of piracy, given the proximity of the Morro San Pedro de la Roca Castle, included in the Historic Site declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

   This unit received numerous clients due to the excellence of its services and the privileged location in the surroundings of the old fortress, considered a jewel of military architecture in the Caribbean.

   Therefore, it was not by chance that on January 14, 2000, musician Paul McCartney, former member of the famous British quartet The Beatles, chose El Morro restaurant to have lunch with his children, due to the good references he brought with him.

   It also had the privilege of hosting, in November 2019, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, during their visit to the fortress built in the entrance channel of the bay of Santiago de Cuba. (Marlene Montoya Maza, ACN)
