Despite the limitations resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, Russian tourism continues as a stable market in Jardines del Rey, informed the General Customs of the Republic of Cuba.
To date, four weekly flights from Russia have been stabilized and the cohesion of the authorities in terms of operations and compliance with the sanitary protocol is maintained, added the Customs announcement on Twitter.
Jardines del Rey, a group of keys and islets in the north of the Cuban archipelago, is one of the Caribbean's tourist destinations par excellence, with airport infrastructure and land routes over the sea, as well as emblematic hotels and sites such as the Coco, Guillermo and Ensenachos cays.
In the summer of 2020, Cuba reopened to international tourism, precisely in the facilities on the key, in the midst of the scourge of the pandemic.
Since then, markets such as Russia and Canada, two of the most important, have implemented weekly flight frequencies.
Since the reopening, Cuba's Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Public Health have been carrying out a program called Safer and More Hygienic Tourism, which certifies hotels that fully comply with epidemiological protocols. (ACN)
