normal   The international tourism operation was activated in all the provinces that are in the new normal phase, based on the behavior of the epidemiological situation in Cuba and in correspondence with the national plan to confront COVID-19 in the month of October.

Juan Carlos Garcia, Cuba´s Minister of Tourism, reported that excursions and the possibility of accommodation in rental houses remain open, both for local and for international visitors.

During his appearance on the Mesa Redonda radio and TV space, he pointed out that in the case of Havana, as of Monday 19, when the ban on entry and exit from the province is eliminated, excursions can be made to other territories.

In the Coco, Cruz and Guillermo keys there will be no excursions to other destinations, only within the area, as has been done so far with great satisfaction from the clients.

In the same way, international marinas and car rental are resumed, and the normal labor hours of workers in the sector are restored, as well as the possibility that Cubans and foreigners stay at the same time in the same facilities, he said.

The domestic market may also be accommodated in Cayo Santa María and Cayo Largo, although the limitation to the rest of them that are in territories that still present a complex epidemiological situation remains.

He reported that airlines will be able to sell "only flights" (individual tourism) for open airports, with the exception of Cayo Coco, which will continue as until now because Ciego de Ávila province is in the autochthonous transmission phase.

Garcia explained that all travelers, whether nationals, tourists or another migratory category, will undergo a PCR test and must fill out the health declaration. (ACN)
