The Las Terrazas complex, in the Sierra del Rosario, reopened to the public in the first post-COVID-19 recovery phase with restaurant and bathing services, which allows visitors to appreciate the beautiful landscapes of the first Biosphere Reserve in Cuba.

Luis Manuel Avila, director of tourist services of the complex, told ACN that the Rancho Curujey restaurant restarted with new offers and that the bathing areas located on this site were also opened (including boat rental) and on the San Juan river, with Cuban traditional food offerings.

He specified that both non-hotel facilities work with 50 percent of their gastronomic service capacities to comply with the distancing rule, with the certification of the Public Health authorities, the presence of lifeguards and trained workers, in accordance with the protocol to be followed in the current health situation.

The operation of 26 out of the 47 rooms of La Moka hotel began for national tourism or foreign personnel residing in Cuba since July but the reopening is conditioned on demand, while the entry of international tourism is expected in the third and last phase of the post-pandemic stage.

For the second phase, and always conditioned by demand, several facilities will be incorporated such as the Boats House, the Polo Montañes music club, the Eco-museum, other recreation areas and bazaars, as well as the restaurants Ruinas Buena Vista, Casa del Campesino, Fonda de Mercedes and the vegetarian food eco-restaurant, he added.
