Cayo Guillermo is an island next to Cayo Coco, in the province of Ciego de Avila, which is part of Jardines del Rey, one of the most attractive recreation centers in Cuba, which is reached by plane through a highway over the sea of about 20 km.

It is an ideal place for water activities, to enjoy the sun and the beach, watching exotic birds and relaxing in an idyllic landscape, as well as having a comfortable hotel and non-hotel network.

Cayo Guillermo has 13 square kilometers and almost six of beaches, including Pilar with the largest sandy dune in the Caribbean (15 meters high), and many describe it as one of the best in Cuba.

This islet is very close to a fabulous 400-kilometer coral reef, which gives it an added interest and attraction for those who practice scuba diving, contemplative diving, recreation and leisure in its crystalline waters and with pleasant temperatures, which allow great visibility of the colorful and diverse marine fauna.

The vacationer will have the opportunity to observe sponges, corals and a varied sample of mollusks, algae, gorgonias, crustaceans and sea fans that will encourage them to venture to explore the seabed.

Birdlife stands out in this island with beautiful flamingos and many other birds that live in its lagoons and in its exuberant vegetation. (María Elena Balán, ACN)
