Cuba, an attractive and safe tourist destination for China

HAVANA, Nov 8 (ACN) Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero presented today in Beijing the attractions of the Caribbean island and plans to increase the number of Chinese visitors.

The appointment of a tourism advisor in early 2020 at the Cuban embassy to Beijing and the declaration of 2021 as the year of tourist exchange between China and Cuba are among the most important initiatives proposed to encourage Chinese visitors to Cuba, Prensa Latina reported.
China will be the guest of honor at the 2021 International Tourism Fair in Cuba; Marrero told Chinese press, tour operators and travel agencies during an event to boost business opportunities for foreign investment in the sector.
The Cuban minister explained that in recent years the number of Chinese visitors has increased to 50.000, but the main goal is to double the number in three years.
He also stressed that Cuba is not only a place to enjoy sun and beaches, but also to learn about its culture and heritage.
Despite pressures and defamatory campaigns, the Caribbean island is consolidating as a safe tourist destination. More than 600.000 visitors considered the peace of the Cuban environment as one of the reasons for their choice.
For his part, Terry Jiang, president of the Chinese agency Bellotour, said that Chinese interest in Cuba is growing more and more, especially because of the variety of the offer that includes fun, but also learn about culture and traditions.
