Cuba and China Sign Memorandum on Training of Officials

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 28 (acn) The governments of the Republic of Cuba and the People's Republic of China signed on Friday in this capital a Memorandum of Understanding that formalizes bonds of cooperation on the training of State and Government officials of the two nations.

Presiding over the ceremony, held at the building of the Council of Ministers, were Yang Jing, State Councilor and president of the Chinese Academy of Governance of the People's Republic of China -who is on an official visit to Havana- and Luis Guerrero, Head of the Department of State and Government Officials of the Republic of Cuba.

Signing the document were Chen Baosheng, Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Committee and Vice-president of Chinese Academy of Governance and Mercedes Delgado, rector of the Higher School of State and Government Officials of Cuba (ESCEG).

The document, signed on Friday, is aimed at encouraging exchanges in the spheres of professors, texts, syllabuses and research between the States's teaching institutions of the highest level in the two nations, according to statements to the press by Delgado, made after the signing ceremony.
